For Scout Groups
STEM & Robotics Nights for Scout Groups
A hands-on VinciBot robotics session at your hall — built around Plan>Do>Review> and a natural fit for STEM & Innovation Special Interest Area projects. We bring everything; your leaders just supervise.
A session shaped the Scouting way
Youth-led, hands-on and reviewed at the end — the same Plan>Do>Review> cycle your program already runs on.
Plan
Patrols size up the challenge — what does the robot need to do, and how will the team split the work?
Do
Build and code VinciBot robots with block coding: movement, sensors and logic, hands on the whole time.
Review
Teams race their robots in a Hack the Track style challenge, then reflect on what worked and what they would change.
Joeys to Scouts — ages 6–14
We adjust the builds and coding challenges to your section: gentle guided builds for Joeys, sensor and logic challenges for Cubs, and open-ended engineering problems for Scouts. Activities are team-based, so mixed-section nights work well — older members naturally mentor younger ones.
Leaders using the night towards STEM & Innovation SIA projects can tell us what the group is working on and we'll align the challenge to it.
Zero prep, fully compliant
“Kids stayed engaged the entire session — we've already rebooked.”

Questions leaders ask
How does a session support the STEM & Innovation Special Interest Area?
Our sessions follow a Plan>Do>Review> shape: youth members plan their approach to a robotics challenge, build and code their solution, then reflect on what worked and what they would change. Leaders can use the session as a launch point or milestone for individual STEM & Innovation SIA projects — we are happy to align the challenge with what your group is working towards.
Which sections can take part?
We run sessions for Joeys, Cubs and Scouts (ages 6–14), adjusting the build difficulty and coding challenges to the section. Mixed-section nights work well too — activities are team-based, so older members can mentor younger ones.
What do leaders need to organise?
Just the hall and the young people. We bring every robot, iPad and the race track, run the session end to end, and handle setup and pack-down. Your leaders supervise as normal.
Do you have WWCC, insurance and risk assessments?
Yes. All ThinkerLab educators hold Working with Children Checks, we carry public liability insurance, and we provide a risk assessment and our child safety policy ahead of the session for your records.
How much does it cost and how do we book?
Pricing depends on group size and session length, so we quote per group — call 0426 693 283 or send an enquiry and we will come back with a simple flat price and available dates for your hall.
