Terms of Service

Terms for using the ThinkerLab website and booking programs.

Last updated: 1 August 2026

These terms apply when you use the ThinkerLab website (thinkerlab.com.au), create an account, or book any of our programs — trial classes, term classes, holiday workshops, birthday parties, school incursions and online sessions. By using the site or booking with us, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Who we are

ThinkerLab provides hands-on robotics and coding education for children aged 6–14, in person in Melbourne and live online across Australia. You can contact us any time at [email protected] or via the contact page.

2. Bookings and payment

  • Bookings are confirmed once payment is received. Payments are processed by our third-party providers (such as TryBooking or Stripe) — we never see or store your full card details.
  • Prices are listed in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. We may update pricing for future terms and workshops; changes never affect sessions you have already paid for.
  • A parent or legal guardian must make the booking and provide accurate details about the child attending, including anything we reasonably need to keep them safe (such as allergies or additional needs).

3. Refunds, transfers and cancellations

  • Our refund and transfer policy is set out on the refunds page, which forms part of these terms.
  • If we cancel a session (for example, low enrolment, venue issues or instructor illness), we will offer you a make-up session, credit, or full refund for the affected session — your choice.
  • Recurring or subscription-based enrolments can be cancelled as described at the time of purchase; cancellation stops future charges and does not affect classes already paid for.

4. Your account

  • You can create a ThinkerLab account by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure.
  • Accounts are for parents and guardians (18+). Children participate in programs but do not hold accounts.
  • We may suspend or close accounts used in breach of these terms or in a way that is abusive, unlawful or harmful to other users, our staff or students.

5. At our sessions

  • Our instructors hold Working With Children Checks and we maintain public liability insurance. We take reasonable care to keep sessions safe and supervised.
  • Parents/guardians must drop off and pick up children on time and provide current contact details in case we need to reach you during a session.
  • We expect respectful behaviour from students. If a child's behaviour puts others at risk, we may ask a parent to collect them; repeated issues may lead to withdrawal from a program (with a pro-rata refund of unused sessions).
  • Equipment (robots, laptops, kits) remains ThinkerLab property unless a take-home kit is explicitly included in your program.

6. Photos and student work

We sometimes photograph or film sessions for teaching records and marketing (website, social media, flyers). We will always ask for your consent — at booking or at the venue — before using images in which your child is identifiable, and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

7. Website content

  • Content on this website (text, images, videos, activity sheets, curriculum materials) belongs to ThinkerLab or its licensors. Free resources we publish may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • We work hard to keep information (schedules, venues, pricing) accurate, but details may change; the booking confirmation you receive is authoritative for your session.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, ThinkerLab is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits the guarantees, rights and remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including that our services will be provided with due care and skill.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with its “last updated” date. Material changes that affect an active enrolment will be communicated by email.
